A Dusting on the Hump

$225.00

8 X 10 original acrylic painting on birch panel

This is the view from the top of Camel’s Hump with just a dusting of snow on the summit, looking down the ridgeline towards Mt. Ellen. There is a distinct rock feature on the summit where a jagged slab rises out of the mountain on end like teeth, with a crack down the center. For some reason whenever I see it I imagine that if you struck a maul in that gap it would cleave the entire mountain range in half, sending a crack down the length of the state. It’s very sword in the stone-like - almost like an altar. Maybe with the right words uttered it opens a magical gateway to the metaphysical world? I mean, probably not, but that’s just what it looks like to me.

Ships unframed in a generously padded box. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
