Handsome Henry (aka Calendula)
Handsome Henry (aka Calendula)
12 X 12 original acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas (painted around edges)
When I was pregnant with my second son William, my first-born son Henry was helping me plant Sweet William seeds in our flower garden. I explained to him that by the time Will arrived in September, these plants would be blooming and helping us celebrate his arrival (which isn’t quite true since Sweet William takes two years to bloom, but still a nice idea). Henry then asked me if any of the flowers in the garden were named after him, and being the quick thinking mama that I am, I pointed to some vibrant Calendula (my favorite flower) and said, “Oh, yes, those there are called ‘Handsome Henry’s’”, which made him smile. And forevermore Calendula is known by an alternate name in our family.
Ships unframed in a generously padded box. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
