Did you know the Wampahoofus Trail on Mt. Mansfield is named after a mythical deer/boar creature rumored to circle the mountain in one direction with one leg longer than the other? I’ve never seen one, but I do love this trail for its luscious moss covered everything and challenging rocky scrambles.
