On the Pluck

$1,500.00

24 X 36 original acrylic painting on canvas

This is a view on the Long Trail on the “pluck” feature of Camel’s Hump – the steep southern face of the peak where glaciers “plucked” off the top of the mountain on their expansive southern push over 10,000 years ago. It’s a challenging, if not harrowing section of trail that helps you appreciate your own mortality. A similar glacial feature exists on the edge of the forehead on Mt. Mansfield, and while hiking that section last fall with my sister, I said to her, “on these precipitous sections of trail I comfort myself by reminding myself that I’ve never heard of a hiker falling off the side of Mt. Mansfield”, to which she assuredly replied, “Not yet!”.

Ships framed with a natural wood floater frame in a generously padded box. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
