Spring Melt
16 X 20 original acrylic painting on canvas
It sometimes seems baffling the amount of water that flows off the mountain – with perennial streams starting their flow at a high elevation and extremely small watershed, it makes me wonder how there can be a seemingly infinite source? As if there is an artesian spring in the middle of the mountain’s spine, continually pumping out water from down below. But in other places, the water flows only in the Spring as the snowpack starts to shed, and great torrents flow through the trees and spill over the bedrock – one last hurrah down the mountain side until next winter.
Ships framed with a natural wood floater frame in a generously padded box. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
