30X 24 original acrylic painting on canvas

Last summer, camping at Kettle Pond in Groton, VT, I woke with the rising sun. So as not to disturb my still-sleeping family, I wandered up the trail a bit and sat and sketched with this hemlock tree as the sky lit up with an orange glow. The double trunk seemed to twist up out of the rock it was perched upon, a sort of snapshot in time of a slow rhythmic dance one hundred years in process, my sense of time too fast to perceive the movement.

Ships framed with a natural wood floater frame in a generously padded box. If you are local to Vermont you may also opt for “pickup” upon checkout at the Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT.
